The Consequence of Commitment received an Honorable Mention in the Energy category and was selected for publication in The Photo Issue of The Flow Trip Magazine.

“For freeride mountain bikers, every line is built on the edge of control. Commitment isn't just optional, it is everything. The higher the level, the greater the risk, especially for athletes pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

I was following Szymon Godziek's line through my viewfinder, clicking as he moved down the course. Positioned on a cliff directly across from his landing, this frame is one I captured before I fully registered the crash.

There's a delay in moments like this. As a photographer, your job is to keep shooting, to keep documenting whatever may unfold. But instinct as a human tells you to look away. For a second, those two things exist at once.

Action sports live on that edge. What these athletes do is superhuman, not because they always land it but because they're willing to risk everything knowing the outcome isn't guaranteed. The energy isn't just in the win, it's in the consequence. Showing that is what makes it real.”
